Suzy Kolber's parents were Jewish. The birth of Suzanne Lisa Kolber May 14, 1964, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The age she is now at is 58. Sandra Kolber was her mother, and Gene Kolber was her father. She graduated from Upper Dublin High School in Pennsylvania, and Sandy Run Middle School. In 1986, she earned an undergraduate degree in Arts with a telecommunications concentration from the University of Miami. While in her undergrad years she was offered the position as a sports director at Dynamic located in Coral Gables Florida. Moreover, she worked there from 1984-1986 for two full time. In this time she was also a part of the water ski team in the University of Miami. Plaza played in Wilmington's community theatre, directing and directing one-act shows. Following her graduation from high school, she moved to New York City and began learning improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. In the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University she studied the film and television production. When she graduated from high school, she relocating into New York City. There, she attended improv courses in the theatre of Upright Citizens Brigade and learned about film and television production at the Tisch School of the Arts. She graduated in 2006.
