Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and vocalist since the mid 1990s. Her early Broadway roles include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors both on screen and stage for her entire career. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film will be aired on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The same team that created Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at helm of the show. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for more than 100 years. She was also the lead in two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway credits. Ashford has been brought up in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
