Andra Day and Andi Matichak
Cassandra Monique Batie also known as Andra is a American R&B and soul singer/songwriter. She has won the Grammy Award, Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award are among the many accolades she has been awarded. In addition, she was selected for the Academy Award. Andra Day is an extremely skilled and powerful performer. She's not an old-fashioned R&B expert, but her background in gospel jazz, as well as the blues are evident and is a perfect fit for today's music. The debut album of Andra Day, Cheers to the Fall (2015) was a top hit on the R&B/hiphop charts. Additionally, her contribution in Marshall (2017) have earned her an award including a Grammy Award as well as an Academy Award. After growing up living in San Diego and surrounding areas She began singing in church and enrolled to at the School of Creative and Performing Arts. Following the graduation ceremony, she started to gravitate towards modern R&B music, jazz and pop but was drawn into the soul and jazz singers from the old. The turning point came after a show she performed was spotted by Kai Millard Morris who subsequently gave some of Day's tracks to her husband Stevie Wonder. Motown famous Adrian Gurvitz then introduced Day to veteran music industry figure Adrian Gurvitz. Allied with Gurvitz as well as Jeffrey Evans' Buskin label Day developed a popularity on YouTube and later signed to major label Warner Bros. n 2012 Day dropped her first single Forever Mine on YouTube. It was played rapidly by radio DJs. In the year 2015, following her signing in 2015 with Warner Bros. Records she began working on her debut album Cheers to The Fall, featuring Adrian Gurvitz. The album included the track"Rise Up" which became an anthem to social justice movements around the globe. Day has received two Grammy nominations including Best R&B Album. In 2019 she released her second album The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album that tells the story of the legendary jazz singer. In addition, she was a part of The United States vs. Billie Holiday, a film about Holiday. Andi Matichak, an American actress. She first appeared in television shows like 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods before making her film debut as Allyson Nelson on the horror movie series Halloween and its sequels. Andi matichak is an American actor born in Framingham on the 3rd of May 1994.
